About teacher

A prestigious winner of the Rondo Young Artists Competition, Korean-American violinist Jisu Choi has been praised as an "energetic performer with agility and precision" (NYConcertReview). Ms. Choi has established her solo career by participating in various competitions such as Dong-A News, LISMA, Crescendo, Pearl and Julius, Adelphi Orchestra, Rondo Young Artist and Hudson Valley Strings Competition. Ms. Choi is also an avid chamber and orchestra musician. She is a co-founder at Amadeo Philharmonic Society. Ms. Choi gave recitals at Weill Recital Hall with a program of Dvorak Piano Quartet and community concerts featuring works by Mozart, Handel-Halvorsen and Martinu. As a solo musician, she gave her first solo recital at Weill Recital Hall in May 2017, featuring works by Bach, Stravinsky, and Wieniawski. Ms. Choi is a recipient of the Mark E. Tracey Memorial Band Scholarship and a full scholarship student at Manhattan School of Music (B.M., M.M.). She is currently a candidate of Doctoral of Musical Arts at Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Ms. Lucie Robert.
