Born in China, Yanbing Chen started his professional violist training since middle school. He has been a talented student in Central Conservatory of Music Middle School and Xi'an Conservatory of Music Middle School, and went to The Juilliard School and finished his Bachelor of Music degree. Throughout his journey as a violist, he has won several prizes including first prize of Cleveland Institute of Music International Academy Concerto Competition, second prize of group String-H of Osaka International Music Competition. He has been under the guidance of professors as Roger Tapping, Paul Neubauer and Toby Appel. As a teacher, Yanbing has over 7 years of educational experiences in fields of violin, viola and music theory and ear training. He has taught students with a wide range of ages, from beginners to professional music students. He holds the idea that it is crucial for a musician to be a kind and empathetic person, then one could present the true meaning of the music.
