About teacher

Pianist Jisle Kim had first public concert in Korea at the age of 13, since then, she continued her performances mainly in Asia and North America. Before she immigrated to the United States with her family, she attended Kaywon High School of Arts. Thereafter she continued her studies at Manhattan School of Music pre-college in the United States. In 2015, she performed at the Frederick Loewe Theatre for the Horowitz Centennial Celebration as part of a two-day event celebrating of the 125th anniversary of the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Her teacher, Professor Eduardus Halim, who is a renowned pianist, also known as “Last Pupil” of Vladimir Horowitz, directed the special performance. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Manhattan School of Music, studying with Andre Michel Schub and there, she has received the president’s award during 4 years. She is a former adjunct faculty member at NYU Steinhardt, where she pursued a Master’s degree in piano performance, continued her studies with Eduardus Halim.
