About teacher

Cellist and Teacher Hayeong Jo received her Bachelor’s Degree and her Master’s Degree in Cello Performance/Cello Suzuki Pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music. During her time at CIM, she took long-term Suzuki teacher training with Abbey Hansen. Hayeong’s primary teachers include Cecilia Lee, Soo Bae and Richard Weiss(The Cleveland Orchestra). She has also played in many masterclasses for prominent artists such as Christine Walevska, Hekun Wu, Peter Salaff, Philip Setzer, Si-Yan Li, Keith Robinson, the Cavani Quartet and the Emerson Quartet. She also played at Severance Hall, Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra, numerous places in South Korea, Chautauqua music school festival orchestra. As a passionate cello teacher, Hayeong has experience teaching students of all ages in a private, group, and chamber music setting. Her goal is to inspire students to love and appreciate music through cello playing and valuable life skills. She believes that every child has the ability to learn and should be given the opportunity to explore music.
