About teacher

Cesil Yun began her piano studies at the age of seven. Born in South Korea, she completed her undergraduate studies at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University and master degree at New York University with Professor Alexander Kobrin. While Yun was pursuing master degree, she held a position as Adjunct instructor of Piano. Yun is a prizewinner in several competitions, including Korean Young Artist Competition, Nasalet University, Gongju Communication Arts University, and Chung Nam Piano Competition sponsored by Chung Nam Arts High School. Also, she represented the school at the statewide Chungcheong Nam Do students� piano competition. She has also won GMTA the Award of Excellence in 2011. As a soloist, she has collaborated with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Huntae Kim at Seoul Arts Center, the biggest concert hall in South Korea. Yun's other recent performances include solo recitals, and chamber concerts in various locations including Seoul Arts Center, Legacy Hall, Student Theatre, Goodwin Hall, Tenri Cultural Institute, Black Box Theater, Province Town, 303, Jule Collins Museum, ASF the state theatre and Greenwich House Music School. In the past summers she has attended International Keyboard Institute and Summit Music Festival. While Song attended the Schwob School of Music, she got numerous scholarships: Alma T. McGee Scholarship, J Daniel Palmer Music Scholarship, and Simon Schwob Music Scholarship. She plans to participate in a number of festivals held in Europe, and to perform concert as a soloist and chamber musician in the U.S.A, and South Korea.
