About teacher

Meixu Lu is a well-known Chinese cellist with more than 20 years of performing experience, currently based in the US. Meixu completed her undergraduate degree at the Central Conservatory of Music in China Beijing, and her Master of Music at Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Music. Additionally, she received a Professional Studies Diploma which is the highest level of performance at The New School Mannes School of Music. She has extensive experience performing with top orchestras at the notable concert venues in the US, such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center as both soloist and principal cellist with various orchestras. Now she is the principal cellist of The Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Lu is the judge of 2017 The 1st CCTV Star Light Teenager Talent competition in New York, 2017 and 2018 Sino Vision the Teen’s Talent Show - American Youth Talent & Art Contests in New York, 2018 The 5th Hong Kong International Music Festival. In 2017, she had her own charity recital at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall with not only classic music with piano but also with Chinese traditional instruments for the world premiere pieces which composed by the famous Chinese composers. All the proceeds of the concert are donated to UNICEF. Charity concerts spread across more than a dozen states and cities of the US. She has been interviewed and reported by newspapers, magazines, news, TV programs and other media at home and abroad.
